Batari BASIC Compiler — Fred Quimby’s BASIC compiler for the Atari 2600 let’s you create your own games that will actually run on an Atari 2600, or in an emulator.

Glamestris — Integrating AI game playing algorithms into Tetris, plus a few other Tetris links, including a 1998 article on Vladimir Pokhilko, the creator of Tetris, going extremely nuts.
