Wowee! Plasma Pong Mini-Review

May 16th, 2006 by bill · No Comments

As a game, good old Pong still holds up, even in these days of massively multiplayer 3D first-person online mega-games. That said, Steve Taylor’s Plasma Pong is a vibrant variant that adds some wild new graphic touches to the old time pongy fun.

You use the mouse to move the paddle and the mouse buttons to emit plasma and particles to add to the ball’s tragectory, or lack thereof. From the website:

PLASMA PONG is a variation of PONG that utilizes real-time fluid dynamics to drive the game environment.

Players have several new abilities that add fun twists to the classic game. In the game you can inject plasma fluid into the environment, create a vacuum from your paddle, and blast shockwaves into the playing area. All these abilities have fluid-based kinetic effects on the ball, making Plasma Pong a fast-paced and exciting game.

It’s a pretty difficult game once you get past the first several levels, but loads of fun and simply gorgeous. See the screenshots attached below.

Free to download, and he accepts donations. Highly recommended.
